Thomas was born in 1960 in the rural village of Thedinghausen, just south of Bremen. At the early age of 11 Thomas tried out his father`s Quickly although his father wasn`t really happy about this as you can well imagine!! At the age of 13 he carried out his first test drives and in the years to follow he built several motor cross bikes with the help of his friends. In 1982 he passed his A level examination and in 1985 founded his own small company for metal processing which still exists as Beform Technik today.
Thomas` passion for vintage motor bikes arose with his first stock of spare parts in 1975 and with his love of searching for motor bike parts from the 1950s. At that time he didn`t have any vintage bikes but old used bikes but the wish to look for pre-war motor bikes was most definitely there. Would it be possible at all to find such old machines ? Information was scarce at that time and it wasn`t until the 1980s that a real vintage motor bike scene with books, magazines and vintage markets developed and offered the possibility to exchange experience and information.
Over the years Thomas has built up a small but very fine collection of bikes from the 1920s and 1930s. He is regarded as an expert for the English Brough Superior bikes and DKW racing machines.
It is because of his many contacts to other collectors and his visits to vintage markets (especially in England) that the possibility of his own auction in Germany has come up for discussion. It is indeed a very difficult theme here because such auctions in Germany have not been so successful so far. One reason for this is the poor quality which most foreign auctioneers have on offer.
Thomas has therefore put many thoughts, ideas and bad experience together to form a new concept – a concept never been known before!!! The most positive reactions of other motor bike enthusiasts show us that we are on the right track and going in the right direction.
Gerhard was born in 1959 in a place not far from Osnabrück called Bad Laer. His father collected motor bikes from the 1930s and 1950s and so Gerhard became interested in vinatge bikes at a very early age. At the age of 10 he tried out the capabilities of a Quickly and at the age of 14 he was seriously interested in vintage bikes. Fascinated by the big V Twins from Milwaukee he started to collect Harleys. However, eighteen years ago he decided to concentrate on machines from the time before the first World War. Since then He has collected a lot of information about pioneer motor bikes and is regarded as an expert in this field. Gerhard enjoys going to rallies such as Horsepower Run and Spökenkieker on a regular basis.
